Four US Ambassadors invite East West Manufacturing to Intimate Roundtable Discussion

David Adelman, US Ambassador to The Republic of Singapore, Derek Mitchell, US Ambassador to Myanmar (Burma), Paul Jones, US Ambassador to Malayasia, and David Carden, US Ambassador to The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) hosted a dozen business leaders to discuss the opportunities that exist to do business in Southeast Asia.

Hosted by the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, the intimate group met in the Executive Boardroom of the Geogia Tech Research Institute, located on14th Street in the heart of Midtown, Atlanta, on Wednesday, November 28th. The Ambassadors spent the week visiting business leaders in New York City, Washington DC, and Atlanta before heading back to their posts in Southeast Asia.

The lively Question and Answer session included a wide variety of topics including: trade agreements, Foreign Direct Investment, the recent Mynamar visit by President Obama, infrastructure and economic development plans, potential security issues, and the future growth of one the worlds most diverse and growing populations. Southeast Asia has some countries with robust manufacturing, raw materials, service, banking, and trading centers, and others that have just removed political dictatorships and are experiencing democracy and capitalism for the very first time.

East West was honored to be invited by US Ambasassadors Adelman, Mitchell, Jones and Carden.
